Mutrac came away 14th place overall at the 2016 annual ASABE International Quarter Scale Tractor Pulling Competition boasting 7th place in Team Presentation and 6th in Design Judging.
Mutrac would like to sincerely thank everyone involved with the team and express our deepest appreciation to McGill University and our team sponsors. Without their support, our attendance at the competition would not be possible.
The team has already begun to look at the design of the new MR18 tractor and are eager to develop advanced testing with our very own pull sled and track. We are confident that we can improve our member structure in order to continue to provide a learning experience for students beyond the classroom.
Last Friday, our platinum sponsor Canimex invited our team to their facilities in Drummondville. Canimex hosted an inspiring educational tour and we were extremely well welcomed.
We are very grateful towards Canimex for their renewed support to our team. Without our sponsors, we would not have been able to excel and achieve as much as we have so far.
The Mutrac team has begun developing and optimizing our design with the knowledge gained from our past competition. The beginning of the new school year has shown promising with many new members and increased involvement here on the Macdonald Campus of McGill University. Many new ideas and designs are being worked on that will push performance during future competitions. A group of 6 team members had the opportunity to attend the competition this year.
Our team performed well at competition. Most notably, a 6th and 7th place pull as well as a 5th place overall in design judging. As always, the competition was a very beneficial and rewarding time for our members, both those present and those who were unable to attend in person. The 2014-2015 school year was focused on design development and many new options were implemented onto the tractor. In 2015-2016 the team will be testing, proving, and optimizing these design changes to ensure that the tractor excels in all aspects of the competition.
We are looking forward to the coming year as our team is stronger than ever with many different knowledge based backgrounds coming together to achieve a final goal. The support we are provided form our sponsors is greatly appreciated as the opportunities provided by the team would not be available without our sponsors.
